Main Prize Eligibility

The 2008 Prize is open to young writers of any nationality, from anywhere in the world, writing in English. Writers must be under 30 years of age on 3rd April 2007. The following Genres are all eligible for entry: novels, collections of short stories, poetry, screenplays, radio and theatre plays.

To be eligible a Literary Work must have been commercially published, for the first time in the English Language between 27th April 2006 and 30th April 2008. For TV writing and theatrical films the script or screenplay must have been commissioned between 27th April 2006 and 30th April 2008

Deadline

Entries are accepted from 2nd April 2007 until the deadline by the close of business on 30th April 2008.

Entry Fee

The entry fee is £100. Please make cheques or money orders payable to Dylan Thomas Prize Ltd.

Selection & Notification

A panel of Judges will review all submissions and select a Long List by June 2008. The Short List will be publicly announced in September 2008. The winner of the Dylan Thomas Prize will be awarded £60,000 at a ceremony to be held in November 2008. All applicants will be notified by letter of receipt of their entry.
